Legendary rocker becomes a dad again at 73

He's one lean, mean, baby making machine.

Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger has welcomed his eighth child into the world at the age of 73.

Mick’s girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, 29, gave birth to their baby this week with the couple yet to reveal the sex.

In a statement, they said they were “both delighted” and couldn’t wait to start this new phase together.

“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival,” they said.

“Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

Mick already has seven other children – one with actress Marsha Hunt, another with first wife Bianca Jagger and three with second wife Jerry Hall.

Some of his other children have already had kids of their own, meaning his new baby will be younger than his grandchildren!

While having a child in your 70s may sound like a nightmare, Mick is said to be taking it all in his stride and is ecstatic about it.

The pregnancy was said to be a surprise, but friends said the couple didn’t mind at all.

“This is great news. It will be Mick’s eighth child and nothing fazes him. He’s been incredibly supportive,” a friend of the pair said at the time.

“She’s very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life. She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can’t wait for him to be a dad again.

“They are taking the news in their stride.”

Mick’s bandmate Ronnie Wood, 68, welcomed twins two months ago so it looks like all the little Rolling Stones babies will have plenty of friends to play with!

Could you handle becoming a parent again in your 60s or 70s? Are you a fan of The Rolling Stones?
