Late for a flight? Don’t do this

The feeling of being late for a flight can be stressful and at the time can even feel like the “end of the world.” Those with a rational mind will realise that while it’s a major inconvenience, it isn’t “the end”. Another flight can be booked and at the end of the day, it’ll just be your credit card that’s bruised a bit. One couple felt that it was “the end” and took very drastic measures to get on the plane and it only landed them in jail.

A flight at the Beijing Capital International Airport was taxiing for take-off when they were stopped by a couple who had run onto the runway with their luggage and stood in front of the wheels of the plane.

The couple ignored the advice from officials and the woman squatted in front of the plane begging for her and her husband to be let on the plane. The ground crew had no choice but to call the police on the couple.

The couple claims that they missed the flight due to never being informed of the departure time of the flight. The information for the flight was clearly marked on their tickets officials found after their arrest.

It may be a stiff lesson to learn for the pair as they may spend the next ten days in jail, be fined, and could potentially be banned from flying. Might have been cheaper to just buy a ticket on the next flight.

What was the best excuse you’ve ever seen for someone being late? What was the strangest thing you ever saw at an airport?

comparable to the Chinese grandmum who decided to let the baby take a crap on the airplane seat – sure I’ll just put some newspaper on the seat – what could go wrong ?

oh you mean airplane seats are not like the dirt in our village – they don’t like this fertiliser ?

Best excuse from a passenger being late:
‘the dog ate my Ticket’! This was before ETickets’ we’re the norm!

    Strange things at an Airport:
    Just way TOO many!
People seem to enter into ‘another brain world’, when they’re at an Airport Terminal.
All rational thought ceases to exist!
They become rude, abusve, obscene in language used, physically threatening in spitting, punching, throwing objects’ at Airline staff.

What the hell’s wrong with them?
Is their level of ‘fear of flying’ SO high?

I know there’ve been some terrible, & horrendous things happening to aircraft over the past15 years’, but that’s NOT normal practice!

I’m a great believer in ‘when your time’s up, it’s up’, & there’s not a damn thing you can do about it!

So in the meantime, enjoy all that you’ve to do!

Having spent some time at Beijing’s International airport; I cannot see how that couple were able to access the tarmac! On our last visit, we (stupidly) purchased a toy containing a magnet – similar to the magnetic plate with the chocolate hat on it used by Zumbo in his Just Desserts program. For international, you enter the airport one level, check bags, and travel by a little ‘train’ down to the next level. There we carried the hand luggage to the security point. As the magnet was heavy, it was in our backpack. Bad move. It showed up strongly on the xray and my husband was made to travel back to the entrance point, through various security points and the train to have the offending parcel placed in our checked luggage. All unescorted, and with minimal Mandarin. Some 40 minutes later, I was getting worried and tried to ask the ‘concierge’ if they could find him. Not enough words for that!! So I sat amd waited! Another 15 minutes and I spotted him returning; thank goodness. Visions of Chinese jails and worse had arisen, but temporarily. Sure we could have abandoned the thing, should have, but he wanted it. Lesson learned.
