Hillary Clinton practiced avoiding Trump’s hugs in debate preparation

Do you remember before Donald Trump became president of the United States, when he and Hillary Clinton had their debates? Remember his tactic of stalking the stage, and his passive-aggressive handshake “hugs” where he would pull whoever he was shaking hands with of balance in a display of power and control?

Well, it turns out a part of Hillary’s debate preparation was to practice avoiding this very situation! You can see her in the video below as she walks onto a mock stage, set with lecterns just like a real presidential debate, and strolls out to greet her mock opponent, waving to the imaginary audience. 

In clearly a bit of a joke – although, given some of Trump’s behaviour it may have been somewhat serious – her opponent starts with the typical Trump handshake, and then it quickly becomes more of a wrestling match!

As Hillary tries to get out of the handshake / hug scenario, the man being her opponent grabs her from behind in something of an attack, while Hillary laughs. At least it looks like she had just as much fun preparing for the presidential debates as she had actually debating on the world stage!
