Elton John ends near decade-long feud with mum

The famous singer publicly reunited with his mum Sheila on social media.

It was the social media post seen around the world: Sir Elton John finally buried the hatchet with mum Sheila Farebrother after nearly a decade of not speaking.

The star took to Twitter and Instagram to announce the reconciliation on, quite fittingly, Mother’s Day.

The pair first fell out in 2008 after Sheila refused to cut ties with two of her son’s oldest friends: ex manager and lover John Reid, and his assistant Bob Halley.

Both had been fired by the famous singer-songwriter.

Allegedly, Sheila later described Elton’s current husband David Furnish, to whom he has two children, as “that f****** thing you married”.

She also claimed Elton had once said he “hated” her.

Elton went on to drive the wedge between him and his mother even further by not attending his stepfather’s funeral in 2010.

It’s also been reported Sheila hired an Elton John tribute act for 90th birthday party, adding insult to injury.

But it seems all has been forgiven and (hopefully) forgotten with the star revealing the reunion on social media by posting a picture of himself and Sheila in happier times.

Now The Sun has reported Sheila is “devastated” that she’s never seen grandsons Zachary, six, and Elijah, four, despite pleas.

Should Elton let his mum see her grandsons?
