Donald Trump takes aim at Oscar’s Best Picture fail

US president Donald Trump has taken aim at the Oscars after the "fail" during the presentation of the Best Picture award.

As you would have seen all over social media and the news, the world is talking about the mix-up over the Best Picture award at the Oscars.

If you missed it, La La Land was mistakenly announced as the winner of the award.

Half-way through the cast, director and producers’ acceptance speeches, it was announced that the winner was actually the film Moonlight.

It was a “fail” moment that has drawn criticism, speculation and viral jokes on social media.

But many were waiting for US president Donald Trump to say something about it, after all, there was plenty of jokes at his expense.

And he’s finally broken his silence on the Oscars, but this time, he opted for a conservative news organisation instead of a Twitter spray.

As you would know, Trump has been at a war of words with the “elite” of Hollywood with both sides trading insults at one another.

Now he’s taken at aim this year’s Oscars, which he described as “sad” during an interview with conservative news organisation Breitbart.

“I think they were focused so hard on politics that they didn’t get the act together at the end,” President Trump said.

“It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars. It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.”

Meanwhile, accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has apologised over the mix-up.

What do you think? Do you agree with Donald Trump’s assessment of the Oscars?
