New documents released by the White House have revealed the extent of Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner’s wealth.
Both work as part of President Donald Trump’s team, with Ivanka taking a job as senior advisor in the past week and Jared heading up the newly created White House Office of American Innovation.
Documents from the financial disclosure forms released by the White House today show they are holding onto real estate investments worth at least $240 million, reports the Associated Press.
This number comes after they both divulged themselves of a number of other multi-million dollar interests before taking up their government posts.
The Trump family wealth has been of huge interest ever since the real estate mogul announced he was running for president.
There were concerns of conflicts of interest given the Trumps’ vast array of business interests, with government lawyers carefully sifting through every asset to find potential issues.
His refusal to release his tax returns also sounded alarms and prompted questions over his ties to Russia.
It has been tradition in the past for sitting presidents to release their tax returns to the public as a sign of good will.
Given she only accepted an official role this week, Ivanka is expected to submit her own financial disclosures in the coming weeks.
The documents released today show she and Jared built up companies worth at least $50 million each, but have stepped away from the businesses to work for President Trump.
Neither Ivanka or Jared are paid for their roles at the White House to ensure they are not violating the strict laws around nepotism that prohibit a president from hiring his own family.
