Company’s ‘paw-ternity’ raises some eyebrows

It has been something that people have been asking for a long time.  It might seem silly to some but to others in a necessity.  No matter what side of the fence you sit on it has now become a reality.  New pet owners are getting paid parental leave for their four-legged “children.”

A company called BrewDog that started with two men and a dog in 2007 has made a big announcement that is taking social media by storm.  In their statement, BrewDog stated, “We introduced something out staff have been asking about for a while. We just introduced ‘puppy parental leave’ for all our crew.”

This “paw-ternity” allows any staff member with a new puppy the ability to have seven-days paid leave to be with the puppy.

While many loved the idea, there were, of course, those against it posting to social media.

What do you think of it?  Do you think it’s a fun, modern change or is it a bit much?
