Bill Cosby hopes to perform again

Bill Cosby hopes one day to perform again.

Bill Cosby has broken a two-year silence.

In an interview with NNPA Newswire Cosby said he is working on new jokes.

“I miss it all and I hope that day will come. I have some routines and storytelling that I am working on,” Cosby said. “I think about walking out on stage somewhere in the United States of America and sitting down in a chair and giving the performance that will be the beginning of the next chapter of my career.”

However there is one thing that has changed since Cosby was in his prime; his eyesight. Now that Cosby is completely blind, his PR person Andrew Wyatt said they are looking at ways to enable him to perform, including drawing wide straight yellow line from backstage to the chair on stage, and he’d rehearse the walk before he show.

He refused to comment on the sexual assault allegations that first came out in 2014 and the upcoming trial.  In 2015 Cosby was charged with three counts of felony aggravated assault in a case involving Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee. In February, a federal judge dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed against Cosby by accuser Katherine McKee but another defamation case against him, filed by six accusers, is still pending.

Evin Cosby, his youngest daughter, now age 40, has written to the National Newspaper Publishers Association to talk about his case. A copy of her words can be read HERE. In her words, she writes “We grew up appreciating my father’s success because we knew the prejudice and racism he endured getting to where he got and how hard he worked for our family.”

Par of her statement also says her dad was “not abusive, violent or a rapist” and that he “loves and respects women.” Admitting like many celebrities he had affairs, but she said her parents had worked though it all and moved on.  She also said the accusations are “harsh and hurtful” and have been “carelessly repeated as truth.” “I am pleased that finally we are seeing the whole picture and seeing cases and claims dismissed from court. I just hope that those who pre-judged my dad are now willing to admit that they were wrong.”
