Barack Obama kicks back on holiday with pal Richard Branson

No hard feelings, despite Branson bemoaning that the "best (British) man" didn't win.

Barack Obama has continued his heavy program of not missing the White House even slightly, helped by billionaire Brit entrepreneur Richard Branson.

Branson is blogging about getting the former US president back in the water while he hosts Obama and his wife Michelle on his private resort in the British Virgin Islands.

“One of the first stories Barack told me when he and Michelle arrived … was how, just before he became president, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii,” Branson writes. “When he came in from an exhilarating session, the new head of his security team turned to him and said ‘This will be the last time you surf for eight years.”

So Branson says it was tremendous to reintroduce Obama to the sports he loved. But, both being high-achieving types, there had to be a challenge.

The pair agreed that over the holiday, Obama would learn to kitesurf and Branson would learn to foilboard surf.

“We agreed to have a final day battle to see how could stay up the longest,” Branson reveals.

From the smile in this photo tweeted by the entrepreneur, you can guess who won.

Are you glad to see the Obamas relaxing after years on the job? Have you tried these sports?
