Aussie actor to welcome ninth child at the age of 60

He’s already got eight children, so what’s one more?

Actor, filmmaker, screenwriter and producer, Mel Gibson is set to become a father again after it was confirmed his girlfriend of two years, Rosalind Ross, is pregnant.

It’ll be the first child for Rosalind, 26, but the ninth for 60-year-old Mel, who has seven children with his former wife, Robin, and one child with ex-partner Oksana Grigorieva.

Mel is said to be “thrilled” about adding to his brood.

“Mel and Rose are so excited about the baby,” a close friend of the couple told People magazine.

The Academy Award winning star and his writer and former champion equestrian vaulter girlfriend are said to be eager to become parents together.

“Mel loves being a dad and he and Rose can’t wait to be parents together. The last two years have been some of his happiest years.”

It looks like things are looking up for Mel, with additional news that his latest directorial effort Hacksaw Ridge has generated some Oscar buzz.

We’re not sure if it was the film or the confirmation he’s becoming a father again, but he received a 10-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival recently.
