As you know, Aussie entertainer Rolf Harris is currently serving a jail sentence in the UK since he was found guilty of 12 child sex offences back in 2014.
At the time he was jailed many fans expressed concerns the then 83-year-old would struggle in prison.
And according to reports on one news website, they could be right.
Earlier this month, Harris was found not guilty on fresh charges against him – while the jury was unable to reach a verdict on several other charges.
Now, it looks like he will be retried for those charges – and apparently it’s taking it’s toll on his mental health.
According to reports in The Daily Star, Harris was due for an early release in July. But if he’s found guilty in this new trial, he could spend the next six years in jail.
By that time he’d be 92 years old.
The Daily Star quotes “sources”, who say Harris believes an extra stint in prison would be “a death sentence”.
“I will be dead within a year. If I get another jail sentence I will never see freedom again. It will be a death sentence.” a source said Harris told inmates.
Apparently he’s depressed and under close supervision in prison as the new trial approaches.
The Daily Star also quotes “government sources” that claim Harris “describes himself as a dead man walking”.
“He says that he will be dead within a year if he receives another six-year sentence,” the source reportedly said.
“Only last week he was complaining about how prison sucks the life out of you.”
While you can only take anonymous “sources” with a grain of salt when they’re quoted in the article, fans across the world fear that prison is too much Harris.
Many fans believe Harris is innocent and have pointed the finger at victims and the media.
