A young Queen and her little Prince playing happily

It’s Mothers’ Day in the UK and to celebrate Clarence House have released some absolutely adorable footage of a young Queen Elizabeth and a baby Prince Charles playing like only a mum and bub can. It is a glorious site to see the traditionally proper monarch and matriarch in such a relaxed and loving place in her own home.

The newsreel says she “produced” the film herself, and shows her teaching him to walk with enticement and giggles, playing peek-a-boo through the windows and tickling him with adoration.

This brought a big smile to our face and all the memories of yesterday flooding back.
