Why you should follow people in suits while on holiday

Jun 05, 2017

One of the most challenging things while being on holiday in a foreign city or country is that it can be incredibly difficult to know where to go and what to do.

Sure, there are guides that tell you what the best points of interests are, and what areas simply must be checked off your bucket list. But what if you want to find something simple, like a great cup of coffee, or a nice place to go for lunch.

What do you do then?

Sure, you can burrow your nose into your guide book, or do a quick Google search, but there is a much simpler way to find something great in the area.

Simply look for people in suits. Why? Well, this people are more likely than not are going to be locals. They’ll be on their lunch break, or out for a coffee, and since they live in the area, they’re going to know exactly where the best places to go are. You know they are going to know a list of places close by that serve an amazing coffee, or the best cold juices, or perhaps a cheap lunch that they often buy.

Now, you don’t have to stalk people while they’re on their lunch break, or anything sordid like that. Just take a moment to sit and people watch and you’ll quickly find people who look like locals.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous and chatty, why not strike up a conversation with a few of them and ask them where the best place to go in town is. If they’re not in a hurry and are happy to help, you might just find yourself stumbling on a hidden gem that only the locals know about.

What do you think? Is it worth following people in business suits on your next holiday? Or will you be sticking to the guide books? Let us know all about what you would do in the comments section below.
