Where to go on holiday in July if you’re on a tight budget

If your budget is holding you back from taking a holiday, next month could be your time to get away. 

Flight comparison website Skyscanner has crunched the numbers and discovered the cheapest places to travel to in July both domestically within Australia and for international flights.

Based on the average cost of the same flight in 2017 as a whole, the domestic flights with the biggest savings are Sydney to Melbourne at 36 per cent cheaper than the 2017 average. The biggest saving for international routes is Sydney to Auckland – 20 per cent cheaper than the 2017 average.

So, there’s no better time than the present to visit Australia’s cultural capital or take that New Zealand cruise you’ve been dreaming of.

Here’s the rundown of the rest of the big-saving flights next month:

Domestic

• Sydney to Melbourne – 36 per cent saving
• Melbourne to Sydney – 21 per cent saving
• Melbourne to Hobart – 21 per cent saving
• Brisbane to Perth – 20 per cent saving
• Adelaide to Melbourne – 16 per cent saving
