Jun 05, 2017

If you’re travelling on a pension, or just like to stick to a budget, then looking for an economical hotel can be high on your list of things to do when organising a holiday. And it’s often the hotels without the kitchens that run at a lower cost, so it’s no wonder they’re a popular choice.

But what if you want to save your money even further by making home cooked meals? You might not think it’s possible, but thankfully there are ways you can make a hot dish in your hotel room, even if there’s no kitchen in sight.

All you have to do is locate the coffee machine. The great thing about the coffee machine is, that many hotels have them available in the room already, and if they don’t you’ll likely be able to request one from reception.

Now, your cooking options are going to be limited, but if you just want a quick snack then instant noodles will easily be cooked in the coffee machine. Simply place the noodles and the sachet of powder into the coffee jug and press the start button to disperse the water.

Another simple food option is to make sausage spaghetti. This will surely be a hit if you’re travelling with the grandchildren. Simply cut your sausages into small pieces, thread pieces of spaghetti through them and then add to the coffee pot. Add hot water and leave until spaghetti is cooked.
