P&O’s new ship design could change the way you cruise

If you enjoy a cruise then news about the finer details of P&O Cruises new 5,200-guest ship will have you in search of your next holiday.

The as-yet-unnamed ship has a new entertainment and dining hub called The Dome, featuring an all-weather venue that exposes guests to a clear sky dome, a swimming pool with retractable stage, a water feature and whirlpools.

During the evening the area will be used to wow guests with aerial performances, roof projections and immersive shows.

Expected to be ready for service in the summer of 2020, the new ship will have glass walls over three decks that will flood the Atrium with natural light.

You’ll be able to buy cruises on this 5,200-person beauty from 2018.

P&O Cruises senior vice president Paul Ludlow says in addition to The Dome there will also be an incredible promenade deck that goes 360 degrees around the ship.

At the unveiling event recently, Ludlow spoke about the exciting times ahead for P&O Cruises and cruise lovers.

“We’re here today to celebrate the next stage in P&O Cruises’ history. Not only are are we going to be talking about our new ship that arrives in 2020, we’re also going to be talking about some really exciting new food and entertainment developments that are going to come online in 2017,” Ludlow says.

There will be 17 places for cruise participants to eat, 12 locations for your to drink at and four swimming pools for you to indulge in.
