Jun 05, 2017

Promotional travel videos can share incredibly useful, inspiring and educational information about destinations around the world, but this has got to be the first travel video made about going to the toilet.

Created by docomo, the video teaches tourists in Japan exactly how to use both their traditional squat toilets and the western-style ones, too.

Using toilets in a foreign country can be a bit confusing, especially if you haven’t yet experienced the different styles of toilets that are found around the world. That’s why videos like this one might actually come in handy. But, do we really need a video about how to wipe our bums?

The video tutorial explains not only how to use the toilet, but how to actually wipe your bottom after you’ve done the deed.

There are two particular styles that the female narrator explains, including the elephant and the horse-tail styles.

As you can probably guess, the elephant style is a back to front motion, while the horse-tail style is from front to back.

But the video doesn’t just explain how to wipe your bum, it’s also goes on to describe the bidet system, or the shower as it is called in the video.

“It’s for cleaning your bottom after finishing your business,” the narrator says.

And for those of us needing a bit of a rundown on how to clean your bottom with the toilet shower, there are a few demonstrations including the tornado, the sumo, the float and the grind.
