Awards end in disappointment for Australian airlines

Jun 05, 2017

Australian airlines have been left behind after failing to make an impact on the world stage, missing the list of top 10 airlines in the world.

The inaugural TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award recognised 50 airlines overall, including the top lists in the world, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia, plus 16 regional winners.

While no Australian airline impressed travellers enough to make the top 10 list, Qantas was named the best airline in Australia. Its partner, Emirates, took out the world number one placing.

The winners were based on airline reviews submitted to TripAdvisor between February 2016 and February 2017.

The awards also drew attention to the best airlines by level of service, encompassing First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy.
