There’s nothing quite like coming home to a clean house and that can be enough to get that great feeling after a big holiday comes to an end. You might be back in familiar surrounds, but look at how spotless the kitchen is! There is a silver lining, after all.
Getting home from a holiday and wanting to do nothing but sleep for the first few days (or a week!) can really put a downer on coming back home, but it can be avoided. If your itinerary allows for it, try and adjust your sleeping patterns a few days before you come home. If that means waking up extra early or going to bed a little later, it will be worth it.
Just because you’re back from holidays, doesn’t mean you can’t still plan fun trips and mini getaways. You don’t have to plan a big trip to Europe, or a safari in Africa to have a great holiday, you might be able to organise a small holiday in your own suburb. Discover local parks, gardens, museums and galleries and act like a tourist in your own hometown.
It’s common to feel lethargic after a big trip abroad, mostly because of the jet lag that people often experience, but it has been found that keeping active before and after your journey can actually slow or delay those tired feelings. Wherever you can, introduce activities throughout your holiday that gets you moving, and make sure you keep that level of exertion up when you get back.
