Sarah Ferguson embraces Bollywood style for awards night

Anyone who ever thought that dressing in your 60s meant not dressing in colour would have been completely taken aback by the Duchess of York recently, after she stepped out in a sari for the annual British Curry Awards.

Not one to shy away from a bit of colour, Sarah Ferguson, completely outdid herself when she donned the heavily embellished garment, together with glittering gold clutch.

With her signature red hair loose around her shoulders, the Duchess completed the bold Bollywood look with a pair of jewel-studded sandals.

The event, also affectionately referred to as the ‘Oscars of the Curry Industry’ is said to attract a star-studded guest list, including actors and MPs who all come together to pay homage to the United Kingdom’s finest curry restaurants.

She’s certainly no stranger to the red carpet, having been out and about rubbing shoulders with celebrities at a multitude of high-profile events over the last few months.

The Duchess also joined her eldest daughter Princess Eugenie a a gala charity event for Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation in New York earlier in November.

Ferguson was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 until 1996.
