3-ingredient fat free fruit loaf 71

View Profile

Here is a recipe for a yummy fat free loaf that has all the taste but none of the calories!

4 cups self-raising flour
4 cups cold black tea
4 cups mixed dried fruit – I use sultanas and dried apricots.

Mix everything together, it will be quite runny.
Pour into an 8 inch deep round tin
Cook in 180 degree oven for an hour, or until a skewer comes out clean.

This loaf will be delicious warm out of the oven, or it can be toasted the next day – if it isn’t eaten beforehand!

  1. Have done a similar one with dates ,strong coffee. Will find and post as it is great for muffin size sticky date pudding.

  2. An 8 inch deep round tin? Do you mean 8 centimetres? Could you also indicate how wide the tin should be? Thanks.

    • The tin would be 8″ round tin not deep…

    • lol Robyn Wakelam. Carbs in moderation are necessary for you! You would treat it as you would treat other cakes, eat in moderation. I think if you sat down and worked it out you would find the dried fruit would add a lot of carbs. Sadly. This is not an unhealthy cake in my opinion, but it is misleading to say there are no carbs!
