Ever wanted to use the leftovers in your fridge while they are fresh but not known what to make with them?  Well, technology has come to the rescue with a new app for your ipad or tablet called BigOven.

Big Oven is a recipe app with over 250,000 recipes, and the ability to upload your own recipes.  But what is best about it is that it has a leftover wizard where you can enter up to three items into a wizard and it will provide a list of suitable recipes for the leftovers you have one hand… handy or what!!

To download the app go to the app store on your device, iphone, ipad, Kindle Fire or android and start the “Use up Leftovers” tab.  You then select your leftovers from an extensive list, where you can choose up to three items from your fridge to combine.

Just enter the items left in your fridge and press enter, and off it goes to search hundreds of thousands of recipes and lists for you the recipes that will work for you.  It is convenient to say the least.  If your friends also use Big Oven, you can see and share their recipes too…

You might be surprised what you can do with a little leftover chicken, avocado and black olives… We were served up a whole host of delightful looking recipes, below.

  1. I downloaded this app but am a little disappointed to find that it is based ion U.S. recipes. I guess I should have known it would be. Every recipe I checked in my first search contained items that I am unable to purchase here. I.e. canned chicken and certain Mexican items.
