You may know Brian for his witty, clever and insightful stories that are regularly published on Starts at 60. You may even know his wife Jacqui, who also writes beautiful articles and great current affairs pieces.

But what you didn’t know is that Brian is one incredible artist!

Over the weekend he shared a few photos of his paintings on the Starts at 60 wall and they’re so beautiful that you need to see them again!

  1. Thank you for sharing your lovely artwork, Brian. The only location with which I’m not familiar is North Wales. As our nearest home state, most of Victoria is familiar, including each of the general location you have captured.
The Albert Park work brings to mind a beautiful early Summer day in 1956 when I was over for the Olympic Games. The Australian Grand Prix was held at Albert Park and, apart from the occasional hay bale judiciously placed against a power pole, the drivers raced on the streets as they were!
I walked across the park and came to a rope hanging low, stepped over it and then, the next thing I knew, found myself in the ‘pits’, actually just roped off sections with a cardboard number to identify the car for which it was intended. Biggest thrill, though, was to meet Mr Behra and Mr Moss (oh so polite in those days!)
Thanks again. I enjoyed the memories your delightful brushwork brought back to mind!
