Michelle and Barack have become the victim of bullies.

A former Republican candidate and avid Donald Trump supporter has come under fire for his comments about the Obamas in a magazine.

Carl Paladino took part in a Q and A for magazine Artvoice talking about people’s hope for the New Year.

Paladino has been a long time critic of both Barack and Michelle Obama, but his comments about them this time have left many feeling sick.

When asked ‘What would you most like to happen in 2017?’, Paladino replied: “Obama catches mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Herford (a type of cattle).

He wasn’t done there though, going on to mention Obama’s senior advisor Valerie Jarrett.

“He dies before his trial and is buried in a cow pasture next to Valerie Jarrett, who died weeks prior, after being convicted of sedition and treason, when a Jihady cell mate mistook her for being a nice person and decapitated her.”

As disturbing as those comments were, he went on to insult the first lady when asked, ‘Who would you like to see go away in 2017?’

“Michelle Obama,” he replied. “I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.”

His comments left many disgusted and prompted some to call for action against him.

Paladino refers to himself as a political activist and sits on the board for the Buffalo, New York school district.

Many are saying he should be fired from his position or face some kind of consequence for his words.

He does however have his supporters who are arguing he has a right to free speech and to say how he feels.

The debate brings up similar issues to the 18C law in Australia, which can see people persecuted for offending someone – accidentally or not.

This year, The Australian was embroiled in a legal battle after an aboriginal woman took offence to a cartoon by Bill Leak that was published in the paper.

Do you think comments like this are ever acceptable? Should he face consequences, or is this just free speech?

This man, Trump & his sheep make me ashamed to say I am from the same country

    • Les Courcha

not much different to what some people have been saying about trump and his family but no disgust from the media I wonder why

  2. Denise Gillespie

I’m not sure that freedom of speech means that you can say insulting and ugly things about other people. These type of thoughts are best kept to oneself. I can only say that as an outsider (non American), I was very impressed with the grace in which the President and his wife fulfilled their duties. Not sure what the next term will bring but you can sure say it won’t be with grace

  3. The watcher

The ugliest thing is this “man’s” psyche. He is horribly damaged.

  4. SAS you should hang your head in shame for even publishing this disgusting and vile comment. You have added another black mark against yourselves. I am ashamed to see what goes on in thes minds of so-called men. Any more of your “reporting “on stuff like this and I will bid you goodbye.

  5. Seeya

How can someone as ugly and unattractive as this man make fun of anyone’s looks. Has he looked in the mirror? This is puzzling. Has he looked at his nose. He looks like a rhinoceros. If you are going to make fun of someones looks, at least be a 10 yourself, and not even then. Geez

  6. Seeya

He is to much of an idiot to filter his words. Why does he need a choir. Couldn’t he keep this to himself. Why is he trying to hurt people who have never harmed him. JEALOUSY AND ENVY are the reasons.

  7. Pat Zammit

This sort of comment is never acceptable no matter who says it or who it is aimed at

  8. A graham

That’s a disgusting way for an adult to talk. It just shows how ignorant and juvenile Trump supporters are. There’s no way any of what he said could be taken out of context and frankly if I was Obama I’d be seeing me lawyers after Christmas.
The speaker is a bogan idiot.

  9. Helen

What a disgusting man, the Obamas have such grace and dignity unlike this other fool

  10. I feel very sorry for Americans’. Trump is a man who is supposed to lead the free world but lives in a world of his own.

I am from New Zealand and we trade heavily with The USA. Trading with a nation whose leader is so irrational and his team so racial with no sense of decorum for the outgoing President and his family makes me think. I hope we get other trading partners.

There never has been and I hope will never will be another president as radical as Trump.

  11. Ruth Winger

Absolutely diguusting. If a poor black waiter in Cape Tow should loose his job for referring to two guests as 2 blacks, what should this degenerate man deserve!

  12. Alistair

hmm not living in the states but it seems you people need to grow up. since the election The democrats have acted like spoiled little children. I cant think of anything Donald Trump has said to make anyone remotely angry. You people have made yourselves the laughing stock of the world. So sad for a nation we in NewZealand once looked up to. Suck it up and get behind your President Elect. Either that or immigrate. Stop bringing your country down.

    • Bichette

      Couldn’t agree more !
Ok for them to talk about trump’s family all the time going as far as saying he is having sex with his daughter but they can take it when the shoe is on the other foot. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.

      (1) free speech is good as is diplomacy, sometimes if it’s a thought it shouldn’t be a spoken word! (2) all Americans should speak out against trump if they feel he is wrong. Bline following is what happened in Germany in 1933 to 1945(3) new Zealanders could learn from this because a politician tells you your country is great it doesn’t mean it is! Kwis live a blinkered life child abuse, poor health system and below average school marks all indicate NZ is not paradise so don’t say it is
