Prince William to leave his much loved job

Prince William is taking on more and more royal duties as he prepares to take the throne eventually.  One massive step is giving up on a job that he has loved for a long time.

The Prince has enjoyed his position as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglia Air Ambulance since 2015.  He has called his service with them a “huge privilege”.  However, his official duties and the fact that young Prince George will be starting school in London it was time to move the family closer to the heart of England.

In a statement released to the press, Prince William stated, “Following on from my time in the military, I have had experiences in this job I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and that will add a valuable perspective to my royal work for decades to come”.  He added, “I would like to thank the people of East Anglia for being so supportive of my role and for letting me get on with my job when they have seen me in the community or at our region’s hospitals.”

The move also means that William and Kate will be taking over a few more official duties as well as the patronage of some of the organisations that The Queen has stepped down from.  Williams’ family will be moving into Kensington Palace but will continue to have the Amner Hall home in Norfolk as a family home.

Many are saying that this move is the first step in a new beginning for the Royals, but only time will tell.
