Prince William and Kate enjoy first family holiday

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have enjoyed their first family holiday together with their young children George and Charlotte.

The royal couple whisked their children away for a weekend break in the French Alps where they skied and played in the snow together.

It was Prince George’s first time playing in the snow and the young royal seemed to absolutely love it, with the photographer capturing a huge smile on his face.

William and Kate are also pictured playfully hurling snowballs at each other as they enjoy time off from their regular royal duties.

The couple is known to have a competitive streak and it seems they weren’t going to let their holiday get in the way, with each of them trying to pelt each other with wads of snow.

The photos were taken by Press Association’s veteran royal photographer John Stillwell who joined the family briefly to take the pictures before letting them get back to their precious time together.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “This was their first holiday as a family of four and the first time either of the children had played in the snow.

“It was very special and fun short holiday for the family, and they are grateful that John Stillwell was able to capture the moment so well. The Duke and Duchess hope people enjoy the photos.”
