Kate Ceberano’s week isn’t getting any better

Just days after enduring a social media hate-fest for her footy final anthem slip-up, legendary Australian singer Kate Ceberano has been hassled again – only this time over her attire.

The Bedroom Eyes singer was on her way to the Caloundra music festival and was kicked out of the Qantas Lounge after checking in in Sydney.

The reason: she was wearing “thongs”.

The airline has recently introduced a strict dress code for the lounge and it seems thin, strappy footwear is out.

Ms Ceberano took to social media to express her dissatisfaction.

“Disappointed to be evicted from the Qantas Lounge after being a member since 1990 for wearing ‘inappropriate footwear’? hahaha (new rules),” she wrote on  on Facebook.

Qantas told Fairfax that all customers had recently been reminded about the smart-casual dress code.

“We reached out to members earlier this year to remind them of the dress standards and had a grace period up until April this year,” said a spokesperson.

Take a look at Ms Ceberano’s outfit below and tell us, do you think it’s appropriate?

Should Kate Ceberano have been allowed into the Lounge? Do these shoes count as thong? Would you wear shoes like this to travel on a hot day?
