A group of hardline vegan activists have been thrown out of a Woolworths for placing stickers about cows being killed around the store.

The protesters, calling themselves Anonymous for the Voiceless, marched into a store in Melbourne and put the stickers on dozens of meat and dairy products.

A video taken by the demonstrators appears to show a Woolworths manager asking them to stop vandalising good, only for them to refuse and call him a “f***ing loser”.

The footage, posted online by ‘animal liberationist’ Paul Bashir, shows the men and women from the group placing the stickers on ice cream, chocolate and beef.

A man who appears to be a member of Woolworths staff approaches the group, who are all dressed in black hoodies, to ask them to leave.

One of the group, whose face is not seen, is heard refusing and saying that they have only come to ‘tell the truth’.

“You have no right to come into a place of business and do this, so goodbye,” the staff member replies.

When they refused to leave, he tells them to “go and get a job or something”.

“We’ve got a higher-paying job than you, you f***ing loser,” one of the protesters spits back.

Insisting they are “educating people”, the activists walk around the store placing the stickers on products, including some that are already in shoppers’ baskets.

At one point the staff member takes one of the stickers away and crumples it up, leading a female demonstrator to complain that he is destroying her “private property”.

The protesters continue to insist that they do not have to leave, but the video ends not long after this, suggesting they did exit the store.

The video has garnered a largely negative reaction, including from fellow vegans.

“Nice job making vegans look to be a bunch of a**holes,” one YouTube user said.

Another, wrote: “You know, I find the philosophy behind veganism is interesting but sadly, the loudest voices behind the movement are total yobs.”

Another commenter said: “Why are y’all picking on some guy working at a store? If you want to be an activist, go try to actually change something, not just inconvenience a guy that’s working.”

Do you agree with this group’s actions or was the staff member right?

  1. A comment in the article sums it all up quite accurately – ” “Why are y’all picking on some guy working at a store? If you want to be an activist, go try to actually change something, not just inconvenience a guy that’s working.”

  2. I disagree totally with this group´s actions and I´m totally in favour of the staff member who is doing their job and they disserve respect. If vegan people want to inform consumers and the general people about the unnecessary cruelty inflicted to most animals they should act in an educated and calm way without interfering with the daily life of those who are unaware or do not care about the suffering of any sentient being. Yes, people should be educated about animal exploitation and ill treatment not just in the food industry but also in the racing industry and consumer in all animal derived products, but in a calm way as I do.

  3. This type of bullying tactics by the Vegans is just the way to make sure I DO NOT listen to them. I am mostly Pescatarian, I do eat cheese etc but I also eat lots of veggies etc. My choice of what I eat though does not make me any better than anyone else. Neither does being a Vegan. Anymore than a Baptist is better than a Muslim, or a race of people more important than another race of people. Some of the worst vegans are the ones who used to eat meat. They try to assuage their Guilt by trying to force their “just found god” attitude on others. Most of their actions alienate people. No matter what, a person cannot elevate their worth by standing on the shoulders of others, you’re still guilty of something, like bullying for instance.

  4. They were all wearing masks. This tells they came to act illegally or they are ashamed of their beliefs. Go get a real job!

    • The thing that I, as an animal activist and vegan, find insulting is that phrase “go get a real job” why do people assume that most activists, vegans, protesters don’t have ‘real’ jobs??
I was with a group of people from Animal Liberation NSW and we were protesting ( quietly) by holding up signs outside a cirus that had animals in it and one phrase that was often yelled at me was ” go get a job” or “go get a real job” I never said anything back but we ( at the protest) were all employed. I own and operate a business that employs 20 staff! What makes you assume that we are uneducated and unemployed?

  5. I believe every one is entitled to their own opinion if you are a vegan that’s great if you eat meat that is your choice, there are better ways to educate people than trying to bully them into what you believe is correct, live & let live is my motto as long as cruelty is not involved.

    • Well said Faye! This minority paints the majority of vegans with the same brush. Not good and if I was a vegan I would not be happy to be represented by this criminal group!

  6. Everyone has their point of view, but wanting to remove the lives of hard working cows from the public is pretty unfair to cows. They owe their existance to us and our appetites. We do owe cows a lot and a good environment, health care and a happy social life is our side of the bargin, but to remove cows from their work, would mean cetain death to all cows. What’s the point of that?

    • Are you serious???????

On factory farms dairy cows useful life ends at around 5 years when they are carted of and killed.
They are repeatably pregnant with their young separated from them within hours of birth and killed.

In the life of a cow death is a certainty.

While I don’t agree with this groups tactics I can understand why they acted the way they did.

  7. I dont interfere or insist they change their way of life, I go to work daily and pay taxes so they can afford not to. We are farmers who feed the populace and pay taxes there also, please dont think you have the right to tell me that my way of life is wrong

    • Why assume they are unemployed? Most activists take time off work for these protests. Good on them.

  8. If people go into anywhere disrupting and harassing an employee they should be charged with causing a disturbance.

  9. These people are complete morons !!! They represent the far left policies of the imbecilic Greens, ie: NO meat, NO coal,
NO cars, NO heating, NO sovereign borders, NO free speech apart their idiotic rantings. These tossers will not be happy until we are returned to the Stone Age. Why don’t they understand that they look just sooo foolish to the average Australian.

    • If you want to make a difference lobby the government, don’t inconvenience a staff member just doing his job.

    • “…NO meat, NO coal, NO cars, NO heating, NO sovereign borders,…” and no humans so the planet would be great!

  10. What is it with these activist, no good useless, jobless, do-gooder’s .what right do they think they have to encroach their stupidity on people and property, we don’t preach to you and tell you what you should do or eat, so get a real job, get real and get a life and thats putting it mildly.

  11. This moronic group has just PROVED to me what I’ve always thought of vegans.
And that is, they’re nut-jobs, intended pun, to the nth degree

How dare they go into a place of business, & do that!
It would be a frightening experience to those in-store, to be confronted by ‘masked’ persons’, as if we haven’t got enough of that type of human(?) in our current society!

And being abusive to a Woolies’ staffer, trying to do the right thing by his employer, & customers’, is just the pits!

They should be arrested for disturbing the peace, & have goal time, long enough to think about their gross stupidity, & that many people are not at all interested in the slightest with their whacky beliefs!
