California to be wiped out by a massive earthquake tomorrow

At 4pm tomorrow, or 7am Australian Eastern Standard Time, Los Angeles and San Fransisco will experience an earthquake measuring 9.8 on the Richter scale, that’s two points higher than the one that devastated Nepal.

The earth-shattering quake will be caused by a series of critical planetary alignments whereby Venus and Mercury are “charged up” in line with North America.

So says some bloke named Frank from the Netherlands, whose 24-minute video about the event has been viewed close to 1 million times. Frank claims to have predicted the Nepal earthquake five days before it struck but without a YouTube video, who knows whether to believe him?

In his commentary, Frank described how he came to know about the impending Californian quake:

“The 12th of August, 2013, I received an important message. Well, for me it felt important. I explained that I felt that it came directly from Spirit. And this message, what it told me, what I was being told, is that there would be a very very large earthquake or some kind of major event with very much energy release. And at the time the message was that it would be on the west coast of North America and that it would be comparable to a 9.8 magnitude earthquake.”

Frank’s theory is based on two things (aside from the voice of the Spirit, of course): Nostradamus’s predictions, and planetary alignments.

Astronomer Phil Plait told The Express newspaper that, first of all, some of the alignments Frank refers to won’t actually occur on May 28th.

Secondly, “There is simply no way an alignment of planets can cause an earthquake on Earth. It’s literally impossible. I’ve done the math on this before; the maximum combined gravity of all the planets under ideal conditions is still far less than the gravitational influence of the moon on the Earth, and the moon at very best has an extremely weak influence on earthquakes.”

So that leaves the Nostradamus prediction. The 16th-century French apothecary has had some hits, and plenty of misses, with his prophecies. Could he be right with this one?

Here are some of the other predictions Nostradamus made for 2015:

• Language differences will have disappeared thanks to a universal translating machine;
• “The buried dead shall come out of their graves”
• The collapse of the World Economy is predicted with the statement “the rich shall die many times over”.
• Mount Vesuvius will experience a major eruption in late 2015 or early 2016. Earthquake may appear every 5 or 10 minutes before the deadly lava and ash flow starts.
• Humans will be living to over 200 years old.
• Humans will learn to communicate with animals. Nostradamus wrote, “The hog will become brother to man”.
• The Western world will abolish all kinds of taxes.

Hmm. With that last prediction, we say it’s safe to assume LA and San Francisco will still be standing tomorrow morning and for a long time to come!
