We’re used to hearing about how us Baby Boomers are responsible for everything that’s wrong with the world today – or so some would have us believe.

But now the tables have turned.

There’s a video going viral on social media at the moment and it’s got a lot of us nodding our heads in agreement.

In the video, author Simon Sinek describes millennials (your grandkids generation – those born after the mid-1980s) as “entitled, narcissistic, self-interested, unfocused and lazy.”

And while you might agree with that, you might not agree with the reasons why he says they’re that way.

Sinek said many millennials grew up with “failed parenting strategies”.

Apparently, it’s not the fault of millennials that they’re this way.

“They were told that they were special, all the time. They were told they could have anything they want in life, just because they want it,” Sinek said.

“Some of them got into honours classes, not because they deserved it, but because their parents complained.

“Some of them got As, not because they earned them, because the teachers didn’t want to deal with the parents.

“Some kids got participation medals – they got a medal for coming in last.”

But it’s not just parenting Sinek points to.

As you might have imagined, technology is also a big factor.

Sinek said impatience and environment were also factors in the issues with millennials.

Watch the video above and tell us what you think. Do you think Simon Sinek is right about millennials?
