Your say: Is the whaling decision a victory for conservation?

Apr 04, 2014

In a groundbreaking decision this week, the International Court of Justice – the highest UN court – ordered that Japan immediately stop its whaling program in the Antarctic.

The case, which was brought by the Australian Government and has taken four long years, has been hailed by conservationists and animal welfare groups around the world. So what do you think? Let us know your thoughts and passions on the subject. Do you see this as a resounding victory in the animal welfare cause and a leap forward in conservation, or do you think it was a waste of government money?
