What Pisses Me Off: Soup, rudeness and clothes shopping!

Aug 30, 2015

Christine’s back with her various annoyances for the week and as usual, nothing or no one is safe.

1. I hate it when I am starving: I go to the cupboard and it is bare. There are always plenty of ingredients but no actual food! Last night I found two packs of gluten free soup. The picture on the pack of the pumpkin one looked delightful so I decided to try it but when I added the hot water it looked far from it and it tasted like absolute dishwater even though I have never drank dishwater. If I did, I am quite sure it would taste like that soup. It really pissed me off!

2. I remember 32 years ago when we moved here it was the perfect sleepy country town: koalas were everywhere, people looked out for one another, there was red soil farmland as far as the eye could see, you could buy fruit and vegetables straight from the farms, and being on the water, swimming and fishing were part of everyday life. It was an awesome place for the boys to grow up and just like the people, traffic was minimal but life happened and the farmland started to quickly disappear, trees were dropped by the hundreds taking our koala population with them and there is now house on house on house and all those houses are filled with people that don’t say G’day. And they all have two or more cars and they are all in a hurry to get wherever they are going. 90 per cent of them drive past our front yard taking my serenity with them, and it really pisses me off!

3. I have an intense dislike for clothes shopping, rest assured I don’t walk around naked, I do have clothes, but finding clothing that I like an  in my price range can be difficult and depressing. This year I had to look as I have been in need of jumpers and tracksuit pants. Recently I was delighted to see zip fronted fleece jackets and matching track pants on the sale racks while walking past Millers so I bought two of each. The first time I wore the trackie pants around the house I kept seeing black spots on the carpet. I had no idea where it was coming from and  it appeared to be following me. I would vacuum it up, I turn around and more would be behind me, thankfully the penny finally dropped and I put my glasses on and was relieved to see the black spots was not an invasion of ants – it was black fleece from my delightful reasonably priced trackies! They were malting. I quickly took them off and covered the floor yet again and the fleece was also stuck to my legs – I resembled an Italian immigrant. I thought it might help to put them in the washing machine but it didn’t! The amount of fleece laying in the machine was incredible and the filter was clogged. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the pilling was insane – my brand new trackie pants now looked like I had been wearing them every day for the past 20 years. Not wanting to lose faith in Millers I decided to give the red trackie pants a chance but too my dismay red fluff immediately started to follow me around the house. The jackets can stay on the hangers as I am not prepared to try them – I am way too pissed off for that!
