We can’t believe we have been sealing ziplock bags incorrectly!

A vacuum sealer always seems like a kitchen item that would be nice to have but hard to justify buying. If you are in the same boat you will love this tip! It is so simple, all you need is a zip lock bag and a straw.

Once you have placed your food in the zip lock bag push as much air out as you can by hand. Next, insert the straw in the corner of the bag and seal the bag around it. Suck the air out of the bag until you see the corners collapse. Lastly, while maintaining suction, slowly pul out the straw and quickly seal the rest of the bag.

Viola! Vacuum sealed!
