Think you love knitting? This 104-year-old has taken it to the extreme!

So many Starts at 60 readers have told us they love to knit but it’s one thing to knit a jumper, and another to take it to the streets!

Meet 104-year-old Grace Brett who shows that with a little creativity and a lot of passion, you can do anything at any age. The spritely Londoner is an active member of the Souter Stormers, a club dedicated to the “yarn bombing”.

Yarn bombing is also very popular here in Australia, as you might already know. It involves knitting colourful patterns and attaching them around tree branches and even bike racks, chairs and poles.

“I thought it was a really good idea to decorate the town and enjoyed having my crochet included,” said Grace, The Press and Journal reports. “I didn’t think it was good enough”.

“I liked seeing my work showing with everyone else and thought the town looked lovely”.

Grace said she has been knitting and crocheting her whole life, but only recently took her hobby to the next level – she helped to yarn-bombed her town and covered benches, telephone booths and well, anything she could attach some yarn to, she did it. i

The keen knitter also has six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren to keep her busy.
