The Royal Event of the year is happening next week

In what could be the biggest and best Royal event this year, beautiful little Princess Charlotte will be christened on Monday, at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.

July 5 is the date, and this will mark the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, and baby Charlotte will be seen all together in public.

Attending the special event will be the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton, other family and the still-unannounced godparents of Princess Charlotte. It will be only the second public appearance of Princess Charlotte.

“While the service inside the church will be private, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be pleased to welcome well-wishers into the paddock outside the church,” said a Kensington Palace spokesman.

The official photographer at the christening will be Mario Testino, a renowned photographer with long, close ties to the Royal family. It was Testino that took the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 2010 engagement photograph, along with the famous photographs of Princess Diana that appeared in Vanity Fair not long before her tragic death.

Are you excited about seeing more of Princess Charlotte? Who do you think might be the godparents? And how much would you like to be buying plane tickets now to go and watch the christening?
