Put this in a sock for an eczema healing bath

Itchy skin is one symptom of eczema, an inflammation of the skin that is relatively common. More than 20 per cent of people with skin disease have some degree of eczema. Doctors often prescribe cortisone creams and ointments that sometimes don’t work and often have undesired side effects.

If you’re running into this problem, you can try this alternative method to deal with eczema — oats!

Did you know that oats aren’t just the tastiest breakfast but they are also great for battling eczema?

All you need to do is have an oatmeal bath and here’s an easy way to do that…

1. Fill up a sock with oats and hang it from the bath faucet before filling it up.

2. The water should flow through the sock, releasing the soothing qualities of the oats. You could alternatively use nettles, which have pain-, inflammation-, and itch-reducing effects.

3. Soak in the oatmeal bath for 15-20 minutes, and then drain the tub.

4. When your skin is clean, carefully get out of the bath and use a soft towel to dry your skin. Make sure you pat (not rub) your skin dry, as this is less irritating and it allows the nutrients from the oatmeal to stay on your skin. Done!

Treating eczema naturally can be a drag, but this soothing homemade oatmeal bath promises to soothe not only your skin, but also your mind.

Besides, who doesn’t love a nice bath after a long day?
