Are you a mum? What a wonderfully momentous milestone and achievement in life. Congratulations!

It’s not easy to put into words what it’s really like to reach motherhood. Sure, you think about what it might be like long before you’re welcomed into this very special group of women that is the exclusive ‘Mother’s Club’, but the reality when you do arrive is very different.

Let’s just say when you become a mum you’re overwhelmed with a level of emotion that you’ve never, ever felt before. It’s an emotional and physical wave of warm and fuzzy feelings, combined with an immense feeling of responsibility. And that enormous sense of love you feel when you first see your baby, well there is nothing else to compare. Or perhaps there is? Maybe becoming a grandmother comes pretty close too!

On this Mother’s Day, share with us. What was it like when you first became a mum? We hope these photos from the archives bring back some fond memories of motherhood for you. Happy Mother’s Day!
