This week, Starts at 60 member Barbara wrote to us, asking for some community advice:

We would like to do a guided coach tour of Europe in September next year. Anyone got recommendations and suggestions for us?

Can you help her? What is your advice?

If you have a question you’d like to ask the Starts at 60 community– we’d love to help! Submit them to us here.

The Starts at 60 writers team seek out interesting topics and write them especially for you.

  1. If you’re young at heart Busabout is very flexible , cheap and travels all over Europe. My husband and I have travelled with them twice when we were in our 60s.

  2. We did an 11 day bus journey through the alps, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Dolomites in Italy. Would recommend it

  3. My sister and I travelled with Back Road Tours in France last year. They specialise in smaller groups ( no more than 15) they also are very affordable and have fantastic driver/ guides.

  4. we did a 31 day tour of Europe with Trafalgar Tours, found them excellent but one thing we learned. we were advised to take the more expensive option offered as, the travel agent said the hotels were closer to the city centres and better options. We found the Cost Saver option often were in the same hotels as we were, often at the same time too, but we found it didnt really matter where the hotel was as we did all the extra things offered and were out at various places or functions every night anyway. the extra $3000 per person diference between the Cost Saver Tour and the other is better in your pocket than Trafalgars anyway !!!!

  5. Have just come back from doing a Trafalgar Tour of Switzerland and Austria fantastic have done two Trafalgars and two Insights the big thing is getting a good Tour Guide the one I have just done was amazing very caring also the same with one of the Insight ones A Tour Guide can either make or break your Holiday we had a shocker when we did the Christmas Markets.

  6. We did one with Insight Vacation a few years back. We liked the fact that their coaches had more leg room which made for a more comfortable journey.
