  1. I heard that you add a teaspoon of carb soda to the boiling water – but all it did was turn the shells a cloudy colour – didn’t peel any easier. But maybe I was meant to peel while still warm – any suggestions?

  2. I do that in a bowl of water and just push it as you roll it, as the water gets in the shell comes off easy, no shaking required.

    • Me too. Have been for years, although I crack and roll mine on the sink until the shell is all cracked the roll them in the water for the shell to peel off.

    • Yes Anne it would have to be about 30 years or so that I have been doing it, because I was visiting my mum one day and that’s how she did them.

  3. Hard boiled…easy peasy. Run them under cold water then gently crack the shells against the side of the pot or sink or whatever and leave them in the cold water for a minute or two. Use the side of your thumb to peel them NOT your finger nails. The shell should then come away with ease.
