Do you have any tricks for getting rid of unwanted little house guests?

Hardly a repellant – the borax kills the ants. Does a good job.

  2. Lee Horrocks

I have frogs around my place, not sure but I think this may be harmful to them. 🐸🐸

  3. Barbara Webb

Tried it, no go for wee black sugar ants as well as the normal garden variety. Freaking Nightmare hey are this year

Vinegar is a deterrent, I spray the kitchen bench with this after wiping over. They don’t like it, only problem is that you need to keep repeating this. πŸ™‚πŸœ 🐜

Does anyone have a remedy for ants crawling up walls and disappearing beneath wall boards, into the walls of the house? I have fussy ants, they won’t eat gel ants baits (tried two expensive brands!).

My mum showed me this trick when I was little. Follow the trail of the ants. Sprinkle bicarb soda or talcum powder where they enter. They won’t cross it. You may have to get an exterminator in to fix the nest if under the house, but the bicarb/talc trick works. A similar post was up last week, but I guess you missed it. The evening before I had ants marching across the dining room. 20 mins after sprinkling the bicarb no ants. No idea where the ants that were inside went, but they had gone.

i too find talc works magic but if they are in your walls beware. I’m told ants eat termites so make sure your not getting rid of one problem for another bigger one. goodluck

Brunnings Surface Spray (not Bunnings) has a R. Spray and you won’t see them I’ve used it for years.
