JK Rowling has written a new book

JK Rowling has released details of her new book, to be published under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Career of Evil, the third in the Cormoran Strike series, continues the adventures of Detective Cormoran Strike and his sidekick Robin Ellacott, following Cuckoo’s Calling (2013) and The Silkworm (2014).

Whilst not available until October 22, pre-sales for her latest novel have sent the it to the top of the ‘movers and shakers’ list on Amazon.co.uk in the past few days.

According to the official Robert Galbraith website, Robin receives a mysterious package and is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg. Her boss, Strike is less surprised but no less alarmed. Four people from his past standout as likely culprits. With police focussing on one suspect, Strike is increasingly convinced it’s one of the other three. As more horrendous acts occur, Cormoran and Ellacott ‘delve into a dark and twisted world’, scrambling against a running clock to work out who it is.

With twists and turns at every corner it is ‘also a gripping story of a man and woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.

Interestingly, earlier in 2015, Rowling stated on Galbraith’s website that the latest novel has included “an insane amount of planning, the most I have done for any book I have written so far. I have colour-coded spreadsheets so I can keep a track of where I am going.”

Have you read a Robert Galbraith novel? What do you think? Would you read anything she writes?
