In this day and age where celebrities are hooking up and ‘consciously uncoupling‘ at a rate of knots, perhaps this is proof Hollywood marriages really can go the distance.
Forty-seven-year-old Jackman first met Furness, 60, on the set of Australian prison drama, Correlli. In case you’ve forgotten, Jackman played the prisoner who who fell in love with the psychologist of the title, played by Furness.
They took the romance off-screen.
The Wolverine actor is well-loved for the way he affectionately talks about his wife.
“I knew 100 per cent … I’ve never known anything as confidently or sure in my life that she was the one I was going to be with. In any marriage there’s good times, hard times and bad times. Whatever happens I know we’re going to tackle it together. Truly she’s the greatest woman I have ever met,” he once told American talk show host Katie Couric.
Together they have two adopted children (Oscar, 15, and Ava, 10), with and both are crusading the case for adoption in Australia. Together they support Adopt Change (Furness is a founding member of the organisation).
