Give your cookie sheets and baking trays a new lease on life

Have you ever thrown out an old cookie sheet or baking tray because it looked like the photo above?

Turns out, you probably didn’t need to!

We’ve all tried scrubbing and scrubbing our baking trays til we’re sore, but what if there was an easy way to clean them up and give them a new lease on life?

Apparently, there’s a product called Sol-U-Mel that works a treat.

The natural cleaner contains Melaleuca (Tea Tree) Oil and soap, and with some steel wool and a bit of elbow grease it can make your cookie sheets and baking trays shining like new.

But what if you can’t get your hands on Sol-U-Mel?

Well, it turns out that you can use a combination of Tea Tree Oil and Castile Soap to get the same results.

If you don’t have any of those products handy, you can always turn to baking soda.

Try mixing baking soda with water and scrubbing with steel wool.

It might take a bit of scrubbing, but your baking trays and pans will come almost new.

There are also numerous baking soda mixes that can work — from mixing baking soda and peroxide, to baking soda and vinegar.

In extreme cases of built-up layers of grease, you might need to use a heavy-duty oven cleaner.

Let your baking trays stand in a well-ventilated area before scrubbing them clean.

It’s important to make sure that if you’re using any harsh chemicals or sprays on your baking trays and cookie sheets, you wash them with warm, soapy water before re-using them.
