Mr Bean’s arrival at the palace recreated a memorable scene from the show, in which Mr. Bean packs his vehicle so full of purchases that he needs to find an alternative way to drive it.

In honour of his anniversary, here are five lessons about life Mr Bean has taught us over the years.
1. Talk is cheap
Aside from his incoherent mumblings, Mr Bean never actually spoke, yet Rowan Atkinson managed to convey every emotion and situation without the need for words. Life lesson: we can all make a little less noise.
2. If you don’t have what you need – improvise!
Forgot to buy a paintbrush with that tin of paint? No worries – you can always use your best friend instead. Life lesson: having a stuffed animal as a best friend can be very handy.
3. Be yourself
Mr Bean is strange, childish, impulsive and sometimes repulsive, but no one could ever say he isn’t comfortable in his own skin. Life lesson: who else would you want to be?
4. Delight in the small things
Remember the time Mr Bean sat on a park bench and rejoiced as he prepared his midday meal? Especially when he got to the live goldfish for his sandwich? Life lesson: if it makes you happy, who cares what anyone else thinks.
5. Don’t put your head up a turkey’s bum
That one’s pretty self-explanatory.
