Create free seed planters using this household waste item

There’s no need to keep buying the small planter boxes when it’s so easy to make your own environmentally friendly ones at home for free.

The video above shows how you can turn empty toilet rolls into planter boxes in seconds. Simply follow the steps to create a base in the roll and you’re on your way.

First cut the roll in half. Then cut 4 x 1cm slits into one end, equal distance apart. Fold the tabs under like a box to create the base. Then fill with soil and your seeds of the season and you’re done.

The best bit? When it’s time to repot or plant into the ground, just pop the whole thing in the soil. It’s biodegradable!
