Awesome way to keep your strawberries fresher for longer

The worst part about strawberries is that they can often go yucky after a day or so, but with this tip, you can extend their life!

While washing them before storage usually accelerates the deterioration, the below washing method that actually keeps the berries fresh longer in storage. Here’s how:

  1. Wash the berries in a diluted vinegar bath (1 cup vinegar plus 3 cups water) and spin them dry in a salad spinner lined with paper towels until they are completely dry.
  2. Store the cleaned berries in a sealable container lined with paper towels, leaving the lid open a little to allow moisture to escape.

The theory is, the vinegar destroys bacteria and mould spores on the strawberries, helping them stay fresh longer. This method should extend the shelf life by days.
