5 handy tips that show why alfoil isn’t just for wrapping food!

We all have alfoil in our kitchen but are you using it in these 5 handy ways? It’s definitely not just for wrapping food!

It’s so brilliant and versatile, and has the ability to clean, protect, shape, grow, polish.

Here are 5 of our favourite clever uses for aluminium foil:

1. Move furniture with no damage

Moving house soon or maybe just rearranging for Christmas? Simply place foil on the bottom of the legs of your item and then slide your furniture to its new home. It’s cheap, easy and it protects your floor and furniture from scratches. There’s no need to buy furniture sliding pads just to adjust your furniture!

2. Scrub your pots

Have some residue from Xmas meals or just last night’s stir fry? Crumple up foil and use it to scrub your pots, woks and pans. All you need to do is add a little water and scrub away.

3. Clean your iron

Have you ever cleaned your iron? A lot of people haven’t. If you have melted plastic, starch or other fabrics stuck on the plate, simply turn the iron on high over a piece of foil. Easy!

4. Sharpen your scissors

Have a little foil left over on a roll, or some from a baking tray? Use it to sharpen up your dull scissors. Simply fold the strips into several layers and start cutting – seven or eight passes should do the trick.

5. Clean jewellery

Clean your jewellery by lining a small bowl with foil then filling the bowl with hot water. Mix in one tablespoon of bleach-free powdered laundry detergent. Put the jewellery in the solution and let it soak for one minute then rinse.
