People are making this homemade wrap to lose inches and fight cellulite

Homemade slimming wraps are gaining popularity.

Body wraps are a popular weight loss technique, which when added to a diet and exercise plan, can help you lose a few inches. Body wraps can help reduce the appearance of cellulite, trim the stomach, buttocks and thighs and conditions and tones the skin. According to Livestrong, DIY body wraps are just as effective as the expensive body wraps that you pay for at salons. And the great thing is, you can make them using natural ingredients that you can easily find at home or at the supermarket. Here’s how you can make a weight loss body wrap at home…

Things You’ll Need

Herbs
Essential oils
Plastic cling wrap
Sheet
Thin towels

Step 1

You can make an herbal body wrap with essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, sage or sandalwood, or herbs such as rose petals, chamomile flower powder or clay (green clay stimulates circulation and detoxifies the skin). These ingredients can be found at natural health food stores or online. For this tutorial, try the sea salt-clay body wrap recipe: 1 cup of green clay, 1/4 cup of sea salt, 2 tbsp. of olive oil and 2 cups of water. Boil the water and sea salt together until the sea salt dissolves and then turn off the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Allow to cool and then rub the mixture all over your body.

Step 2

Wrap your body in a sheet or thin towels, or use plastic cling wrap. Start at your feet, rolling or wrapping your legs separately, as if you’re applying a bandage. Then, wrap your hips and torso, then your arms. This can be a little tricky if you do it yourself, but if you feel comfortable, have a friend do the wrapping part for faster, neater application, until you get the hang of it. If you wrap yourself in a sheet, pull and gather it as tightly to your body as you can.

Step 3

Wear the wrap between 30 to 45 minutes. You can lay down in the bathtub or on your floor or bed, but use an old blanket or sheet down first so you don’t stain furniture or carpeting with the wrap ingredients.

Step 4

Rinse the wrap off after 45 minutes. Stand in the tub and shake off any residue that clings to the sheets or towels into the tub for easier clean up. Rinse using tepid to warm water and gently rub and massage the skin as you rinse.

Step 5

Gently pat your skin dry. Put on loose clothing to encourage ventilation to skin pores and take it easy for a few hours. The body wrap encourages drainage of the lymph nodes, which offer immune and infection-fighting properties to the bloodstream. Following a detox or weight loss wrap, excess fluids will build up in the lymph system, so drink one or two glasses of water following the wrap to hasten urination and drainage of excess lymph and wastes from the body.
