Why I like retirement….

Question: How many days in a week?
Answer: 6 Saturdays, 1 Sunday


Question: When is a retiree’s bedtime?
Answer: Three hours after he falls asleep on the couch.

Answer: Only one, but it might take all day.

Answer: There is not enough time to get everything done.

Answer: The term comes with a 10 per cent discount.


Question: Among retirees what is considered formal attire?
Answer: Tied shoes.


Question: Why do retirees count pennies?

Answer: They are the only ones who have the time.


Question: What is the common term for someone who continues to work and refuses to retire?
Answer: NUTS!


Question: Why are retirees so slow to clean out the basement, attic or garage?
Answer: They know that as soon as they do, one of their adult kids will want to store stuff there.

    • me either,altho’ now I do VOL work 3 days wk &swim & go to computer class thur ,so there’s only Fri left to do housework (yuk) & anything else I have to do. I like to keep w/ends free in case I want to go out somewhere .!!!!!

  2. I love retirement. Just wish I had the income I had when I was working, because now I have time to spend it.

  3. Loved working and thought I would miss it dreadfully, but I don’t. So busy with clubs and things that I don’t have much free time at all, and when I do, I just enjoy it. Third and final cycle of life….grasp it and make it count!!

  4. I am 65 still working, but feel retirement might happen this year. However I love being busy and I am a bit scared that i will get bored at home. What do you all do?

    • I love being busy, don’t cope with sitting around doing nothing, scares me a bit too. Love my job too, working with the elderly.

    • If there is no wind blowing. Go fishing
      If the wind is up. Clean the boat

    • Gosh I retired at 51 and have never stopped. Always busy. Now hubby got a redundancy and we always have something to do. Life is what you make it. Grandkids, friends to catch up with and family to visit. Tennis, take mum in law to bingo and we have met so many people there. Movies, swimming up the beach at my brothers.. Gardening and have to find time to clean house and shopping too. Also got a little dog and have met so many neighbours walking her.
