Uptown funk band goes number one in 1976

This US band experienced many highs and lows with their music, before going number one with this song as the lead single in their seventh studio album.

People were attracted to this funky piece of RnB music due to the upbeat trumpets and saxophone, walking bass line and three part harmonic vocal melody.

In the second verse, a very faint scream can be heard. This has caused many to speculate on the cause of this scream with many believing of a possible murder during the recording of the song.

The band has never answered this, and intentionally stayed quiet on the subject in order to sell more records.

With over three million copies sold, you could say that this has been a successful tactic.

Can you guess the name of this famous tune?
